REBECCA TUCKER

Rebecca is originally from Elizabethton, Tennessee and is a 1991 graduate of East Tennessee State University, earning a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Public Relations. She is the Co-Founder and Vice-President of the Beaufort Film Society since 2009 and Co-Director of the annual Beaufort International Film Festival since its inception in 2007.
Formerly, Rebecca served as Producer, Director, Writer and Marketing Director for Sandbar Productions, also doing business as Good-To-Go Video, from 2001 through 2013, specializing in documentary style productions featuring the United States Marine Corps. Rebecca served as the company liaison with the major network and cable providers like The History Channel, The Learning Channel, A&E, National Geographic and others.
Rebecca was a key producer for over 600 Recruit Graduation Video Programs at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, SC. Prior to joining the team at Sandbar Productions, Rebecca’s employment history included nearly 10 years in the Banking industry.
Rebecca is a member of the Carolina Film Alliance and the International Documentary Association. She also served as Co-Producer and Extra's Casting Director for the romantic comedy feature film "Stars Fell on Alabama", released in January 2021.
RON TUCKER

Ron is originally from Woodruff, SC, located in the Upstate near Greenville/Spartanburg. He served in the Marine Corps for 21 years, retiring at the rank of Captain in 1992. He served three tours in the Beaufort area during that time and is a veteran of the Persian Gulf War.
In 1993 he formed a video production company Sandbar Productions, LLC dba Good-To-Go Video. From 1994 – 2013, the company produced a series of documentary productions about the Marine Corps and provided content for many of the leading film and television providers to include The History Channel, National Geographic, ABC, CBS, NBC, the BBC and many more. GTGV has been awarded over 25 national and international awards for production excellence. From 1999-2013 GTGV produced over 600 graduation ceremonies at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, SC and made DVDs available for the new Marines and their families. Ron also served as the Co-Producer and South Carolina Locations Scout and Manager for the romantic comedy feature film "Stars Fell on Alabama" released in January 2021 by Samuel Goldwyn Films.
In 2004 Ron became the Chairman of the Beaufort Regional Film Commission as part of the Beaufort Regional Chamber of Commerce. In this position he served as a member of the Executive Committee of the Chamber Board of Directors. Ron was certified by the Association of Film Commissioners International in 2004.
Ron is currently a member of the International Documentary Association and serves on the Board of Directors for the Carolina Film Alliance and is a graduate of the University of South Carolina and holds a Master’s Degree in Management from Webster University.
For a little background, in 2007 the Beaufort Regional Film Commission presented the first festival under the direction of the Beaufort Regional Chamber of Commerce. Since 2010 The Beaufort Film Society has produced the Beaufort International Film Festival and recognized aspiring filmmakers of almost every genre including independent film features, animation, short films, student films, documentaries and screenwriting. It is also an opportunity to showcase the beautiful “film-friendly” region of Beaufort and the Carolina Sea Islands. For over three decades Beaufort has served as the backdrop for more than 20 major motion pictures, including Forrest Gump, The Big Chill, The Prince of Tides, and many more. Through this festival we will reintroduce our sweeping marsh vistas, antebellum homes, and quiet charm of the old south to a new generation of filmmakers.
In 2009, Ron and Rebecca, founded the Beaufort Film Society. It was at that time all responsibilities of the festival were transferred to this non-profit 501(c )3 organization. In February 2019, the festival celebrated its 13th anniversary. BIFF has grown from about 500 in attendance in 2007 to over 17,000 attending in 2020 and was named as one of the Top 25 Coolest Film Festivals in the World by Movie Maker Magazine in 2013. Most recently BIFF was listed by the marketing firm FilmFreeway as one of the Top 100 Best Reviewed Film Festivals in the World.
