Best Short Film:
Song of Pumpkin Brown
Synopsis: Inspired by the story of the legendary Jenkins Orphanage Band, director Brad Jayne's short film tells the tale of ten year old boy named Pumpkin Brown, a shy young boy who is sent to live in Jenkins Orphanage following the death of his father. Introduced to the jazz trumpet as a means of expressing his grief through musical creativity, the introverted Pumpkin soon finds his voice in the musical style with a unique note for each human emotion.

Nest of Spiders
Synopsis: A decorated Marine officer unexpectedly returns home from the war and is quickly recruited to help a troubled teen prepare for boot camp. When the true reasons for her return become known it threatens the future for both of them. Dealing with an issue that now has tremendous relevance as American troops are stretched to the breaking point.
Best Animated Film:
Idea Development
Synopsis: This film follows a writer’s journey through the ever-changing landscape of the creative process. Beginning with the initial confrontation between himself and the blank page, the writer begins building an idea with the first initial clicks at his typewriter. This soon leads him into the bright, sunlight world of the imagination and a new vehicle for his creativity…a flying machine.
